Early Stage Detection – Now What?

While receiving a cancer diagnosis is always difficult, it helps if the cancer can be detected as early as possible – ideally before it has a chance to spread to other parts of the body. Earlier detection of cancer increases your chances for successfully managing your condition. Of course, a cancer diagnosis, even at an earlier stage, is understandably a life-changing and emotional event. You will have to process a lot of information and undergo numerous medical tests and appointments. You will also have to make important decisions about your care.
You can use this booklet as a guide to prepare to discuss your care and treatment choices with your medical team. Note that this booklet is intended to be a general guide that is most relevant for solid tumours, and not blood cancers.
